Abstract
The State is a form of political organization which marks the beginning of modernity and the end of the feudal era. Since the seventeenth century the state was configured as the only alternative of political organization. Still, every political culture developed differently institutions depending on the particularities of each
tradition. As a result, institutions not only depend on the structure given by
acts of the state, but also depend of the political culture of society, represented
by shared social values and ideas among members, which means,
codes of conduct that are generally not written and that complement the formal rules. This happens because even if the rules are may be the same, the binding mechanism, the compulsory compliance and the standards of conduct and the subjective models of the actors are not the same. In this paper we´ll analyzing the main models of the western state from four political cultures (English, French, American and Latin American) in order to show how different political costumes and traditions influence today the different states.
