Project Details

Description

Ocular cicatricial pemphigoid is the main cause of cicatricial conjunctivitis in first world countries. On the other hand, it is an orphan disease, it has been described that it has a incidence of 0.8-1.13 per million people annually, in Europe.
We have realized that the epidemiological data of this disease are very few described in Latin America, even in our literature review, we did not find any country that reported its incidence and prevalence, given the above, we found that ocular pemphigoid has its own ICD-code. 10, for which it was decided to search the databases of the Colombian Ministry of Health, where we found the necessary data to be able to make this report of a case in a historical cohort and make it possible to make an epidemiological description of the disease in Colombia.
