Commitments / Obligations

The results of the investigation seek to explain how the common and undivided property regime works, and how it affected the form of violence used in Colombia. The contribution to the community as a result will be the provision of legal advice aimed at explaining and describing the property modality in which they are immersed. In addition, this advice will seek that the community by its own means can make decisions and actions in relation to their property rights.

In the creation of these results, legal instruments will be reviewed and field work will be carried out that will cover some important aspects such as: Why is the common and undivided regime used today?, How does this regime work?, What problems Does this type of property present in the commoners? How does the armed conflict influence the ownership of this type of property?

The information on common and undivided property and its relationship with the armed conflict will be collected through the characterization of two communities located in the municipalities of Santa Marta and Dibulla. These municipalities have been selected due to the presence of two groups with this type of community property, in addition to being in an area where the scourge of the armed conflict was very marked.

Finally, it is intended to give a virtual workshop for participants, including co-owners and public officials where the common and undivided regime is explained, since it affects the economic and social exploitation of the territories and encourages legal uncertainty of rural property rights.
