Description
The Colombian Mining Observatory (OCMI) is a centre for research, knowledge management and reflection on mining activity in the country, which uses a virtual platform to ensure a constant and updated flow of information. This initiative, although led by the Faculty of Jurisprudence of the University of Rosario, has the support of other managers from academia, NGOs, civil society, international organizations, companies and public entities.
In this way, the OCMI is conceived as a way to encourage formalization, compliance with regulations, social and environmental responsibility and due diligence in mining and commercial practices in the sector, to make mining an engine of responsible, transparent and sustainable development.
