Geriatric syndromes are a series of highly prevalent conditions in the elderly, of multicausal origin and associated with morbidity and mortality, in addition to being interrelated. The timely detection of these syndromes is of vital importance for the care of the elderly; however, the application of validated instruments for this purpose requires a learning curve and time of dedication, which primary health care personnel do not have. It is necessary to design new promotion and prevention strategies focused on the community.
