The fundamental objective of this research is to study the financial performance of Internet service providers. It is determined whether the companies created or destroyed added economic value based on the arrival of new competitors, this is related to potential barriers to entry. The economic value added was established as an indicator. As main results, this sector presents a higher proportion of investment in relation to its operational utility, which has an impact on productivity. © 2018.
