The research products published and socialized by the scientific community are more than material objects, they are reifications that represent their identity, their meanings and their practice. This article presents an analysis of the community of researchers in science teaching in Colombia from its reifications. The study was developed based on a qualitative approach and from a critical and hermeneutical perspective. The research products reported on Colciencias' ScienTI platform were reviewed, as well as the reports published by the two main national events specialized in the field during the last decade. It was identified that community practice revolves around interests that are related to two epistemological positions: science education and science didactics. These perspectives epistemologically guide the production of researchers and determine the relationships between pedagogical theory and practice. The analysis also evidenced the urgency of broadening the dialogues between community members that allow reaching concrete agreements regarding the needs of the research field in Colombia.
