Abstract

The present case-control estudy is aimed at identifying risk factors associated to long hospitalization, in five years old minor with Respiratory Low Infection not complicated Acquired in the Community attending in Clínica Colsubsidio, Bogotá, Colombia between 1999-2000. Our results show that patients having comorbolidad an Odds Ratio (OR) of 3.86 with 95% Confidence Interval (CI) ranging between 1.59 - 9.39 and a p value of 0.0002, the precedent of respirtory therapy had OR of 3.09, with 95% CI between 1.12-8.51 and a 0.02 p value and use of corticoides had an OR of 4.18, with 95% CI between 1.58-11.02 and a 0.0002 p value. Relevant aspects are analyzed in the hospitalizaton for this group of patients, like other factors are checked that though they do not show significant association they are a topic of follow-up and work.
