Abstract
Introduction: the diagnosis of cataract by ultrasound
Prenatal care is a rare finding and
has reported even less frequently in cases of
congenital infections This report describes
a case of congenital cataract during an infection
by Toxoplasma in pregnancy. Prenatal studies
and postnatal confirmed the etiology.
Methodology: case study and literature review.
PubMed search was made of MEDLINE with the
Unrestricted terms: "ultrasound", "ultrasonography",
"Cataracts" and "prenatal".
Results: 43 references were found. Alone
one of the documents reported finding of
cataract by prenatal ultrasound in toxoplasmosis
congenital
Conclusion: the careful search for commitment
vision during the ultrasound study in toxoplasmosis
acquired during pregnancy should
be a key component of the sonographic study
during this infection
