Abstract
University teaching has faced significant transformations and challenges in recent years. Globalization and its consequences in the economic, social, cultural and environmental fields have been its driving forces. Scientific and technological development, communications and the use of knowledge as the productive and driving force of the global economy have saturated the dual substantive role of the university teacher as researcher and teacher. In this sense, the university teacher is in a spiral of permanent scientific growth based on research and technological development, which he must articulate with his teaching practice.
