To present the findings of our research on the dynamics of local elections in Colombia, in the framework of the VI National Congress of Political Science.

It is expected that the resources obtained will contribute to the registration and travel expenses of the researchers, as well as some students of the DEMOS-UR research group. The above with the objective of presenting our research results in the framework of the VI National Congress of Political Science. This with the aim of making a rigorous analysis of the social variables involved in the electoral processes, which in the local area in Colombia constitutes an important advance in this matter, since it has been very little explored in Latin America, but especially in our country.
Taking into account that the idea is to make joint papers, including a comparative study (between Bogotá, Medellín and Cali), this experience in the Congress will be the starting point to broaden our research scope and strengthen the capacities of our students. With these considerations, we hope to conduct a seminar at the VI National Congress of Political Science, which we could call "Dynamics of elections in Colombia: a comparative perspective". The seminar would have three tables (one for each city), where 3 to 5 papers would be presented, depending on the number of candidates, in which the analysis of the results for each mayoral candidate (in Bogota, Medellin and Cali) and their explanatory variables would be presented. The experience of the Congress will be deepened around the discussion generated there, as well as our results and conclusions, in order to elaborate bibliographic material on this subject. For this purpose, collaboration with our peers in electoral studies at EAFIT and ICESI will also be essential.
