Description
The project aims to identify the current state of regulation in Human Rights and Business in Colombia, through an analysis of international and national instruments on the matter.
The general objective of this project is to identify strengths and gaps in national instruments for the implementation of international Human Rights and Business instruments adopted by organizations such as the United Nations, the OECD and the ILO.
As specific objectives, this project aims to consult the current state of progress on Human Rights and Business that has occurred within the State and within companies. Analyze the general public policy documents adopted by the Government of Colombia on human rights and business, in particular the national action plans of 2015 and 2020. Analyze the sectoral public policy documents adopted by the Government of Colombia on rights humans and companies, with emphasis on those in the mining-energy sector.
Write academic products that reflect the progress and shortcomings of previous documents, from a perspective that takes into account global trends.
And finally
Provide technical assistance to the State of Colombia, when required, on the adoption of future regulations and policies regarding human rights and businesses.
