To mark five years of Colombia’s peace process, this project aims to understand the new dynamics of Colombia’s ongoing violence following the 2016 accords between the Colombian government and the FARC guerrilla. New and localised confrontations have emerged in the aftermath of 2016, which are no longer linked to the struggle for political power and are for the most part now defined by organised criminal modalities. This project therefore works at a municipal level to investigate how and why organised criminal structures are ‘spoiling’ the country’s peace process.
