Resumen

Las enfermedades autoinmunes (EA) representan un grupo heterogéneo de afecciones crónicas que afectan a órganos diana específicos o a sistemas de órganos múltiples, y se inician por la pérdida de tolerancia inmunológica a los autoantígenos. La naturaleza crónica de estas enfermedades impone una carga significativa en la utilización de la atención médica, los costos económicos directos e indirectos y la calidad de vida.
