Resumen

El objetivo del estudio fue investigar la asociación combinada de la adherencia a una dieta mediterránea (MedDiet) y la aptitud muscular (MF) con la salud cardiometabólica en estudiantes universitarios. El presente análisis transversal consistió en 1248 (714 mujeres) estudiantes universitarios sanos (20,1 ± 2,7 años de edad). La adherencia a un MedDiet se evaluó mediante un cuestionario KIDMED (Índice de Calidad de la Dieta Mediterránea). Como indicadores de MF se utilizaron el salto de bipedestación amplio, el salto vertical de bipedestación y la dinamometría isométrica de la empuñadura. El perfil cardiometabólico se evaluó mediante los siguientes componentes: triglicéridos, presión arterial, triglicéridos, lipoproteínas de alta densidad (HDL) - colesterol, glucosa y circunferencia de la cintura. El análisis de covarianza muestra una diferencia significativa en el perfil cardiometabólico de ambos géneros entre los grupos de MF alto/bajo MedDiet y alto MF/óptimo MedDiet, y los grupos de MF bajo/bajo MedDiet y bajo MF/óptimo MedDiet (p < 0,001). No se encontraron diferencias en el perfil cardiometabólico entre MedDiet de alto MF/óptimo y MedDiet de alto MF/bajo, tanto en hombres como en mujeres. Además, la regresión logística muestra que ambas mujeres (odds-ratio[OR] = 2,01; intervalo de confianza[IC] del 95%): (1,8-3,7); p = 0,02) y hombres (OR = 3,38; IC del 95%: (1,9-5,8); p < 0,001) los participantes en el grupo óptimo de MedDiet/de alta MF tuvieron las mayores probabilidades de expresar un perfil cardiometabólico más saludable en comparación con los del grupo de baja MF/baja MedDiet.
