Objective: Design a program to promote vocal health and prevention of voice disorders aimed at fitness instructors, sports, or dance teachers (P3VTSD) that can be executed in remote access.
Method: The P3VTSD was developed based on a literature review and pilot with four professionals. The P3VTSD divided in three times: initial vocal screening, after are realized 4 individual remote access sessions each of 30 minutes, where to explain the topics about anatomy and physiology of voice production, vocal health, and custom vocal warm up and vocal cool down and final vocal screening. The P3VTSD is directed by Speech Language Pathologist.
Result: In the initial vocal screening, it is performed a basic questionnaire and vocal profile of the participant, using a video-recorded class, complete the fatigue and vocal symptoms questionnaires. Subsequently, the 4 sessions are held, in which vocal warm-up routine is worked, including exercises respiratory coordination, different exercises of the semi-occluded vocal tract, resonance voice exercises and a vocal cool-down routine. The selected exercises and runtime were according to three criteria: mastery, comfort, and result in the vocal quality of the participant, finally, the participant receive an informative flyer with personalized videos with their training routine and final vocal screening process. The group that performed the pilot test improved their self-perception on voice care.
Conclusion: The P3VTSD is proposed as an alternative for sports or dance teachers and fitness instructors to learn how to take care of their voice and get the most out of vocal efficiency with minimal effort.
