Characterization of the vocal profile in singers in Bogota in the current situation by the Covid-19: Preliminary study

Objective: Characterize the vocal profile of professional singers and/or singers in training in Bogota in the current situation by Covid-19.
Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted. 33 singers participated until now, contacted through social networks. Singers staged questionnaires on sociodemographic characteristics, vocal habits, and the Singing Voice Handicap Index (SVHI). Singers received information material on vocal health.
Result: 33 Colombian singers were evaluated 60.6% female and 39.4% male,  age 27.85 (6.6), 63.6% were contemporary commercial music singers, 9.1% were classic singers and 27.2% were participate of the choir or musical groups.  singing experience time 7,82 (6,1), 94% of the singers have performed in public,  hours a week of singing were 5.0 (4.4), 81.8% of the singers performed vocal warm-up and 24.2% vocal cool-down. 15.2% of the singers have had voice problems and at 27.3% had consulted a Speech Language Pathologist. About COVID-19 contingency, 45.5% of respondents had a reduction in related economic income singing during quarantine. 54.5% performed virtual music shows. The total score of the SVHI was 69 points (maximum point of 110 and minimum of 35 points).
Conclusion: This preliminary study suggests that the current situation by the Covid-19 generated changes in the dynamics of the singers, presenting a reduction in their economic income, change in the routine, as well as, also generated other forms of musical performances. In addition, for all singers, the results obtained in SVHI total score are greater than the average normal value of 20.35.
