Voces en pantalla: Bioética y ciudadanías emergentes a través del cine

This work brings together the analyzed topics in the notion of citizenship understood as a social process that allows the emergence of subjectivities and moral and political identities articulated around the affirmation of freedoms and fundamental rights, as well as the duties necessary for community life; citizenships articulated around shared health needs, research practices, vindications of rights and vital needs or technical possibilities for improvement and optimization—biocitizenships, as philosopher Nikolas Rose puts it.

The book addresses issues such as the rights of people living with HIV, intercultural health, rights of people with mental disorders, disability and substance use disorders, bioethics in research, recognition of non-human living beings, and bioethical dimensions of neurotechnologies, artificial intelligence (AI), and robotics. We hope that this journey will broaden the moral horizon of our readers and encourage new discussions on the practices of recognizing other forms of life and different ways of being and remaining in life.
