Abstract
This study discusses the use of Twitter by the two newspapers with the greatest impact in Spain: El Mundo and El País. Its objective is to analyze the kinds of accounts that the two daily newspaper maintain on the microblogging platform. Its results reveal that El País publishes a larger number of tweets per day by using an automatic update, whereas El Mundo focuses on sending fewer messages and prioritizing user interaction.
