Abstract

Suicidal self-injurious behaviors, together with neuroleptic malignant syndrome induced by the use of substances with strong antidopaminergic action, such as antipsychotic drugs, are the clinical situations, in psychiatry, that put patients' lives at risk (Hawton and van Heeringen, 2009; Pileggi and Cook, 2016). Self-injurious behaviors represent a medical emergency that merits careful clinical evaluation, with an empathic attitude, without criticizing or ridiculing (Campo-Arias and Herazo, 2015; Mingote, Jiménez, Osorio and Palomo, 2004).
