Abstract

Since the COVID-19 pandemic was declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) in March 2020, citizens of various countries around the world have been exposed to catching this virus, as well as in labor, economic and social uncertainty. Social. In this chapter, we carry out a content analysis on the content related to migration and coronavirus in four referential headers in America: two cybermedia from the United States -La Opinion and El Diario Nueva York-, and two referential headers from Mexico: Milenio Diario and La Border Voice. The results show that the migratory phenomenon tends to be constructed based on the approach of the media: on the one hand, as immigration -with a negative nuance-, in the case of the headlines based in the host country -United States-, from the consequences or effects; on the other, as migration -with a positive nuance-, for the platforms located in the countries of referral, frequently described from human stories, that is, with an emotional character.
