This study presents a qualitative analysis of the (Sub) National Quality System (SNC) in Colombia. Since the issuance of Conpes 3446 in 2006, Colombia's SNC has made significant progress in the areas of metrology, accreditation and standardization, placing it among the most advanced in Latin America in the last 15 years. The country, however, has considerable backlogs in the area of testing laboratories since only a small number have obtained the appropriate certifications. The study presents the state of quality service gaps in two production sectors.
