Abstract

Theoretical framework: it has been reported that the presence of involuntary stops during the 6-minute walk test is associated with an increase in mortality in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. However, the relationship of stops to other determinations of the 6-minute walk test such as speed, work, the distance-saturation product, and exercise-induced desaturation, has not yet been established.

Objectives: to determine the correlation of involuntary stops with clinical variables collected routinely in the PC6M, as well as with the new determinations derived from the test, in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
