Abstract
This article pretends to systemize the experiences obtained during the development of an intervention project from occupational therapy intervention.
Objective was centered in promoting the decrease in occupational risk in the productive area of young people in conflict with the law; soon to be released from a specialized center in the Colombian south west.
Methodology developed in the project was mixed, called “New Paths: reduction of future occupational risks of young people in conflict with the law”, development until January and June of 2014. It were implemented in different modules of intervention, using interactive techniques like cartography, role play, situational analysis among other, where young people had the experience of finding information about other working and educational options. In this same way and as a transversal thread, advanced social skills and intellectual competencies necessary to face situation problems were addressed, group pressure, alternatives to aggression such as the favoring of assertive communication, which propitiated the adequate occupational performance in the scenarios where the different activities took place.
Results allowed the identification of appropriation on behalf of the young people to occupational options different to crime, also to recognize themselves as an active part of change, increasing self-awareness and a predominant role as members of society.
Conclusion it is pointed out the imperative need of specialized attention from institutions to recognize young people as subjects with particular characteristics and in this way put forward re-socializing programs that contemplate differential attention
