Sarcoidosis vs. tuberculosis ocular: un reto diagnóstico. A propósito de un caso

Currently, there is debate about the usefulness of a positive QuantiFERON test in patients with suspected ocular sarcoidosis. We present a case of atypical ocular sarcoidosis that was diagnostically challenging due to elevated angiotensin-converting enzyme levels and a positive QuantiFERON test result. This led to diagnostic uncertainty; however, after a thorough evaluation, the diagnosis of ocular sarcoidosis was confirmed and no change in the therapeutic regimen was required. We emphasize the importance of understanding the context of tuberculosis in our region and the need to seek the best evidence for diagnosis in complex cases.
