Abstract
Through reflection on liberal revolutions it is possible to verify the existenceof different legal cultures, which within the framework of European culture generate various legal institutions for the consolidation of the nation-state. Studying the history oflegal cultures in liberal revolutions will help us to understand that every culture has itsbeliefs, norms and values, which are in a constant flow and do not change as quickly as theformal norms of a new legal order. These cultural limitations allow us to connect the pastwith the present and the future, which helps explain the fact that history matters, becausewe cannot understand the present without understanding the trajectory ofthe institutions inour societies.
