Abstract
Cervical cancer (CaCU) is considered a public health problem in the world, in Latin America and in Colombia, despite being a highly preventable disease (Herrero et al., 2008; Sankaranarayanan, 2006; Alliance for Cevical Prevention, 2005). Its occurrence, which has a differential geographical distribution, has been related to various factors, including: the general living conditions of the population, the existence of organized health programs, the socio-cultural organization of social groups, the modernization of the State, social development and technological advances (Murillo et al., 2008; Profamilia, 2010; Piñeros et al., 2010).
