Abstract
The problem of environmental damage has attracted great interest by practitioners and academics from various disciplines. However the motives behind this discipline, they have not received sufficient attention from the Colombian legal literature; mainly from the perspective of responsibility. This book chapter presents some preliminary reflections of liability for environmental damage, to introduce the study of various topics. The aim of the book, is a doctrinal framed construction on duty to prevent progressive environmental deterioration caused by the human species, to safeguard living species and respect the legacy that will be left to future generations.
