Abstract
The present paper carries out a review of literature regarding the use of psychodynamic psychotherapy in the integral treatment of schizophrenia. Diverse scientific studies are reviewed which discuss its effectiveness, forms of intervention and the specific handling of this mental disorder. Some of the studies reviewed compare the efficacy of the treatments for schizophrenia from different therapeutic models, finding favorable evidence in the therapeutic results produced by the psychodynamic approach to schizophrenia.
