Abstract
Patterns of violent behavior were studied in a sample composed of 120 participants, from General Santander National Police School, Rafael Reyes Section of Boyacá, Colombia. The participants were classified based on time in the institution, grade and income, by a cluster analysis. An ex post facto transversal design was used. Aggression Questionnaire of Buss y Perry, sincerity scale of the EPQ and a survey for the patterns of violent behaviors, based on previous studies were applied. By a cluster analysis, four patterns o violent behavior were obtained in the sample, ranking from less to more presence of aggressive behaviors, and by a non-parametric Jonckheere-Terpstra test it was estimated that no differences existed in sincerity, and physical aggression, verbal aggression, rage and hostility of the aggression questionnaire, among participants belonging to each pattern. Time in the institution, grade and income showed differences, and when these variables increased, individuals were included in the lowest patterns of violent behavior.
