Abstract
Since its creation, cinema has established a reciprocal and fraternal relationship through specialized criticism, which has an important value and influence on audiences and art and goes beyond aesthetic valuation. In Colombia, similar to the rest of its history, the relationship between cinema and audience has been fragmented and dispersed. National film criticism has traditionally been an exclusive and restricted activity, little studied and immobile. In this article we examine the relationship between Colombian cinema and criticism, its foray and role in non-specialized general media and its current development. Thanks to the analysis carried out, we propose the gender as a positive engine to promote interaction within cultural journalism, but it has not been able to renew or define itself within the media.
