Abstract

Cerebral meningioangiomatosis (MA) is a rare pathology, described as a proliferation of meningothelial cells that are wrapped around small cortical blood vessels in young people who suffer from refractory epilepsy as a principal clinical manifestation. Few cases of MA reported in the literature are associated with cortical dysplasia classified as type IIIc by the International League against Epilepsy (ILAE). In the following report we describe the first documented diagnosis of MA in Colombia, of a nine-year-old boy with medically refractory epilepsy who responded positively to surgical treatment.
