Abstract
Luis Casasbuenas Duarte was an important Colombian neurosurgeon, pioneer in pain management and spinal diseases. After his retirement from neurosurgery, he trained as a doctor in communication sciences at the University of Barcelona and published important contributions on the subject of the doctor-patient relationship and the importance of humane and assertive communication.
