Abstract
Since the 1980s, the HIV/AIDS epidemic has been the subject of study and intervention in the field of public health. In 2021, globally, it was estimated that 38.4 million people are living with HIV (PLHIV), of which 1.5 million are new cases and there were 650,000 HIV-related deaths (1). According to the burden of disease study (2), 20.1 million women were reported to be living with HIV in 2019, suggesting that prevalence in this group is higher than in men. Globally, prevalent cases have been increasing, while incidents and deaths have been decreasing (2). This epidemic has led to a worldwide concerted effort to deal with it.
