Abstract
From a transcolonial and comparative approach we analize the medical education enlightened reforms in the colonial territories of Santafé, Lima, Rio and Bahía. First, we describe the Spanish and Portuguese enlightened reformist agenda; second, we present the enlightened reform plans in each colonial territory and the process of their constitution to understand the peculiarities of those transcolonial reformist agendas in each territory; third, we discuss the advantages of our theoretical and methodological approach to understand the dynamics regardind transcolonial agendas in these specific territories and in the field of medicine and surgery.
