Abstract

In recent years, there has been a wide recommendation to strengthen the teaching of promotion and prevention (P&P) in undergraduate medical education. However, little attention has been paid to this topic in surgical medical residencies. 1-3 The analysis focused on the purpose and content of the P&P section of the micro-curriculum of a pediatric emergency rotation, for first-year pediatric residents at a university in Barranquilla, specifically on the approach to the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) strategy. The main objective of this study was to explore the perceptions of different actors about the teaching-learning process on P&P in the micro-curriculum of the pediatric emergency rotation in Barranquilla.
