Abstract
The article presents a study whose objectives were to determine what type of specialized training on digital communication received Venezuelan journalists in 2014-2015; assess what was the use that was made to social networks in Venezuelan journalistic culture; and, finally, to examine whether social networks influenced the construction of the journalistic reality in Venezuela. Among the conclusions it reached highlights the fact that Venezuelan journalists, as audiences show a marked interest in the use of social networks, above the importance they give the same owners of the media.
