Abstract

Prosody disorders in particular affective spontaneous prosody (phonological feature that allows us to express emotions in speech) are clear in patients with schizophrenia, but there is little evidence on treatment. In cases where the literature reports treatment, difficulties in social functioning persist even afterwards in most patients. The literature shows good results for individual and group interventions with the latter having the greatest positive impact. Intervention protocols in metacognitive skills and social cognition are shown to be effective for functionality and social skills, transcending traditional medical management.
