Abstract
The School Feeding Program (PAE) is a public policy implemented by the Colombian government to ensure students remain enrolled in public schools
by providing a food package. This program serves as a vital resource for many vulnerable children and adolescents living in rural areas, as it grants
them access to food in spite of the difficult economic and social conditions their families endure. In this context, an analysis of the implementation
of the PAE at Colegio Rural Pasquilla IED, located in the rural zone of Ciudad Bolívar, shows that the program formally complies with the regulations
concerning to food security, by guaranteeing daily access to food for the students. However, significant limitations were identified regarding the quality of the food provided and the lack of a differential approach that considers the specific nutritional needs of the students, based on their caloric expenditure, socioeconomic conditions, and cultural diversity
