Estado, saber experto y la configuración del problema alimentario en América Latina (1900-1960)

This dossier, elaborated as part of the activities promoted by the Network of Historical and Social Studies of Nutrition and Food in Latin America (https://www.redehsnal.com/), seeks to contribute to and reinforce this research agenda, focused on the analysis of the intertwining between the State, expert knowledge and food in Latin America. Despite the above-mentioned background, when we move from the processes that took place in the Global North to the Latin American context, our level of knowledge is considerably reduced. Thus, each of the papers presented in this dossier constitutes a piece with which to advance towards the elaboration of a broader and more integrated narrative on the ways in which our societies have historically configured their ways of conceiving and intervening on the problems related to the feeding of the population, along the entire food chain.
