Abstract
The heritage values of the city are a fundamental part of the identity and character that serve as a basis for the communities and strengthen their processes of appropriation and conservation of the territory. In our interviews and workshops with actors from the neighborhoods that are part of San Diego Extendido and the National Park, we collected the experiences and memories of the population in relation to the heritage elements of the sector. We identified that there are strong ties between the population and its heritage; however, this interaction is affected by diverse social and economic dynamics, as well as by urban projects that have caused the deterioration and abandonment of some heritage elements. For this reason, this research has collected the testimonies and expressions of the community and experts, in order to support the recovery and revitalization of tangible heritage (buildings, monuments and nature) and intangible heritage (traditions, festivals, legends) of the neighborhoods that make up our area of analysis
