Abstract
The paper proposes a view of the World Trade Organization Dispute Settlement System as a promising but largely unexplored scenario to strengthen special and differential treatment to support the right to development of a number of developing countries. The paper explores the challenges that are visible from the perspective of the participation of developing countries in the Dispute Settlement System and seeks to put forward an optimistic account of the possibilities offered by the planned and strategic use of such a mechanism by developing countries.
