Abstract

The monarchical leadership in Spain essentially owes its legitimacy to irrational motives, while the position held by Philip VI is not revalidated by any type of electoral routine and, furthermore, it is discursively removed from current affairs. This irrational architecture causes the Crown's high need to construct its image from the real archetype, a staging organized from tabas and stereotypes. On the contrary, in the Colombian case, the republican leadership led by Juan Manuel Santos synthesizes the heads of state and government, but this concentration of power is ephemeral, since article 197 of the Colombian Constitution prevents the re-election of the president. This means that, in each period, a demagogy of vitality is consumed, as opposed to the role of perennial witness of the history of the country played by the Spanish monarch. With the following article we present a comparative exercise between the construction of the leaderships of both heads of state, in order to better understand how the symbolic management of a monarchic ownership and a republican ownership is articulated from the informative construction.
