El lado oscuro de la sinusitis: Presentación de un caso con complicación cerebral

Orbital cellulitis is a rare and potentially fatal condition associated with eye trauma or upper respiratory tract infections, especially sinusitis. Associated complications include central nervous system involvement, including meningitis, cavernous sinus thrombosis, and abscess formation, which occur more frequently in children and adolescents. We present the case of a 20-year-old man who presented with cerebral empyema as a complication, highlighting the importance of computed tomography and the value of early antibiotic and surgical management, as the results were satisfactory with no sequelae.
