Abstract
Peace Education in schools is a process that involves students learning skills to live together peacefully and resolve conflicts with others. Many educational institutions in different contexts have undertaken efforts in this direction, but these experiences and their results are not always sufficiently documented. This article proposes to present a State of the Art, resulting from the exploration and identification of the main characteristics of a series of school intervention programs carried out between 2005 and 2021, designed to work on peaceful coexistence and conflict resolution. It was found that the programs include strategies such as: student training of competencies and skills, implementation of mediation and social support systems, prioritization and classification of needs. Based on a global analysis of the characteristics and results reported in these experiences, some recommendations were generated that contribute to strengthen future Peace Education intervention programs.
