Abstract

Low back pain is a syndrome characterized by pain, muscle tension and stiffness, which is located the back, below the grate cage and above the inferior gluteal fold. In Colombia, as in the rest of the world, is the second most frequent, with multiple etiologies and individual factors, psychosocial, occupational and genetic factors that may worsen the pain. The following article offers recommendations for evaluation and treatment in the presence of LBP specific source, which is the etiological mechanism and to follow all the general parameters for pain management and foundations for non-specific pain and radicular pain associated with situations in which there has been inadequate treatment and abuse of surgical procedures.
