Abstract
The year 2020 marked the beginning of an event that would change life as it had been known until then, what some called “normality” became a “new normal”. The COVID-19 pandemic brought with it consequences not only in terms of global public health, but also enormous difficulties in the economy, education, interpersonal relations, gender equity and many other areas. The achievements made over several years, even decades, were drastically affected by the pandemic and, in some cases, there were significant setbacks, such as, for example, progress in closing the gender gap in organizations, access to education, increased informality and increased unemployment, the latter generating an indirect effect on the level of psychological distress (Grandey, et al., 2021).
