Abstract

Since the seminal work of Emery and Trist (1965),
the literature on business management encourages
companies to adapt to the changing environment, to
cope with turbulent business environment. In the last
decade it has taken hold a perspective that suggests
developing a structural link between the business
environment and the strategic behavior of firms to
cope with turbulence. Looking to explore this
alternative, this article uses qualitative case study
methodology and documentary content analysis to
support the case of the mobile telecommunications
industry in Colombia.
