Abstract

A multi-point mutant, derived from bacteriophage T7 wild type and capable of growth in the presence of the plasmids F' and/or R-64, was isolated and characterized. It is concluded that 11 of the 19 essential T7 genes are not required for viral growth in the plasmids containing hosts.
