Abstract

This volume condenses and synthesizes what the Colombian ETP, in particular, and the Latin American ETP, in general, is at one and the same time, which appears as a reflection and an adaptation of what is developing globally according to canons dictated from other socio-economic, political and cultural latitudes, but also as a reaction to it and as a self-assertion. This is not an example of an anti-colonial text, but rather an anti-ethnocentric manifesto that presents and interprets the reality under investigation within the framework of its own socio-cultural parameters, without necessarily considering them as universal keys to understanding other alien and exotic realities. And this is one of its main general contributions, because it marks a different style of doing POT because it emphasizes the idiosyncratic aspect of the phenomena and processes it deals with and by doing so, it points to a horizon that should not be lost sight of discipline and profession, if they do not want to repeat old mistakes of their recent past derived from the minimization of the historical-cultural relativity of their field and their object.
On a global and local scale, there is still a long way to go before progressing towards a ETP with greater epistemological foundation, more interdisciplinary and multiprofessional articulation, social relevance, theoretical elaboration, methodological quality and diversity, and self-critical reflexivity that resituates at the center of scientific and professional work the framework of axiological, ethho-political and deontological reference. This book is a significant step in this direction.
